Manual Mill Operator

Our shop produces sheet metal and machined components for the world's leading manufacturers of aircraft, aero structures, and defense platforms.

JOB SUMMARY: The manual mill operator at Ran-Tech utilizes manual machines such as mills, lathes, drill presses, and hand tools to process parts to customer specification. This includes countersinking, drilling, reaming, applying radii or chamfer per requirement.

Essential Functions Include:

• Ability to measure and select bits and tools according to part specifications.
• Practice safe operating procedures for all equipment and tasks.
• Utilize micrometers, calipers, protractors, and height gauges to validate parts.
• Perform all other tasks or functions as directed by the supervisor.
• Accurately record job status and hours within ERP system as well as filling out the proper paperwork.
• Practice safety operating procedures with all equipment.
• Maintain a clean and organized area.
• Predictable and reliable attendance.
• Ability to adhere to deadlines and produce quality work.
• Ability to behave respectfully and work collaboratively with co-workers, customers, and vendors.
• Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. • Have some experience with drill presses and manual mills.
• General understanding of material types, and feeds/speeds appropriate for them.
• Must be able to work in a team environment.
• Must have some print reading experience.
