New Product Introduction (NPI) Machinist
The NPI Machinist at Ran-Tech sets up and operates numerical control machines or machining centers to perform various machine functions, such as cutting, drilling, milling, reaming, boring, and broaching of mainly metallic (aluminum, Inconel, stainless, titanium) work pieces, utilizing knowledge of machine tool capabilities. The NPI Machinist position is a highly skilled and experienced machinist.
Essential Functions:
- Set-up and operate CNC machines based on detailed engineering drawings and CAD files.
- Ability to read, understand, explain, and execute CNC programs and code.
- Proficiently read and interpret blueprints.
- Proficiently demonstrate comprehension and execution of GD&T.
- Consistently produce good quality first article parts.
- Solve technical machining problems to yield conforming products.
- Work with QA inspectors to troubleshoot nonconforming conditions.
- Work with CNC Programmers to develop sustainable machining programs.
- Establish effective set up procedures, generate work instructions for future production runs.
- Ensures quality of parts before forwarding them to next operation/process.
- Ability to run multiple CNC machines.
- Ability to use precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauge blocks to ensure dimensional accuracy.
- Must be efficient and accurate.
- Predictable and reliable attendance.
- Ability to adhere to deadlines and produce quality work.
- Ability to behave respectfully and work collaboratively with co-workers, customers, and vendors.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. - Minimum 3 years CNC Machinist and Set Up experience.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Level 3 or higher blueprint reading skills.
- Proven understanding of feeds and speeds for multiple materials.
- 5 axis Lathe and Mill experience.
- 1-year of Mastercam experience, preferred.
- Strong analytical skills to identify and resolve manufacturing challenges.
