Job Summary
The Quality Assurance Lead is responsible for supporting and maintaining the company Quality Management System while ensuring compliance with AS9100 requirements, customer specifications, and internal procedures. This role works closely with Engineering, Production, and Program Management to ensure product quality, process control, and continuous improvement across composite tooling and part fabrication operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain compliance with AS9100 Quality Management System requirements
- Lead inspection planning, documentation review, and quality verification activities
- Review travelers, drawings, specifications, and customer requirements
- Support internal audits, corrective actions (CARs), and root cause investigations
- Ensure proper documentation control and record retention
- Coordinate with production teams to resolve quality issues and prevent recurrence
- Assist with customer audits and quality communications
- Support process improvement initiatives and defect reduction efforts
- Maintain calibration tracking and inspection equipment readiness
- Communicate quality risks, defects, and compliance concerns to management
Qualifications and Requirements
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function and assigned duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, competency, and/or abilities required.
- High School diploma or GED required
- Associate’s degree or technical training preferred
- Experience in aerospace manufacturing quality or composites manufacturing preferred
- Working knowledge of AS9100 requirements and inspection practices
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
- Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy
- Familiarity with root cause analysis and corrective action processes
- Ability to communicate clearly with technicians, engineers, and management
- Proficiency with basic computer systems and documentation tools
- Must be able to wear proper personal protective equipment
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Exhibits dependability, ownership, and accountability
- Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines
Job Type: Full-time Monday – Friday 6:30am – 3:00pm.
