Tooling Engineer - Contract Position

 

We are seeking a Tooling Engineer to support the design and development of assembly jigs for aerospace manufacturing. This role involves creating robust tooling solutions that enhance production efficiency and ensure quality standards. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in tooling design, particularly in the aerospace sector, and demonstrate proficiency in CAD software and GD&T principles.

Key Responsibilities

-Design and develop assembly jigs and fixtures to support aerospace manufacturing processes.

-Utilize CAD software (CATIA V5) to create detailed tooling designs.

-Apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) to ensure precision and compliance with specifications.

-Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate tooling solutions into the production workflow.

-Conduct tolerance analyses and implement design improvements to optimize manufacturability.

-Ensure all tooling designs comply with ITAR regulations and company standards.

-Provide technical support during the fabrication and implementation of tooling solutions.

Qualifications

-Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.

-Minimum of 5 years of experience in tooling design, with a focus on assembly jigs.

-Proficiency in CATIA or NX10.

-Strong understanding of GD&T principles and their application in tooling design.

-Experience in the aerospace industry and familiarity with ITAR requirements.

-Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

-Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
